Dustin Poirier recently disclosed that Khabib Nurmagomedov will purchase his UFC 302 combat outfit. The same bout in which Poirier lost to Nurmagomedov’s student and lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev. The ‘Diamond’ claimed that the funds would support his foundation, which aids impoverished individuals. Given the news, Conor McGregor was not pleased and made some very serious charges against both of them.

McGregor and Poirier share a unique relationship. While both have praised each other in the past, it is often overlooked by their mutual hate. After hearing the recent news, McGregor dropped a spree of comments accusing Poirier of scamming others through his foundation. McGregor called both Poirier and his wife scammers.

McGregor also referred to Khabib Nurmagomedov as a terrorist, a notion that the Irishman has been advocating for a while. When one of the ‘The Eagle’s teammates was connected to a terror act in Dagestan, tensions escalated. Other than this, McGregor continued to make fun of the lightweight icon after learning of Nurmagomedov’s $3.3 million tax debt.

Each of the three fighters had engaged in prior combat with the other. Both Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov have defeated McGregor. While Nurmagomedov submitted the ‘Notorious,’ Poirier had previously defeated McGregor twice in a row by TKO. However, their second fight is the main reason they are no longer on good terms.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier argue over a $500K donation

Going into their second fight at UFC 257, both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier were respectful towards each other. Before the fight, McGregor declared that he would give Poirier’s charity $500,000. The money was going towards the construction of a gym for underprivileged children in Lafayette, Louisiana, Poirier’s hometown.

However, later Poirier revealed via X that McGregor had disregarded his efforts to get in touch over the contribution. This happened following the contest, which Poirier had won by TKO in the second round. It led to a back and forth between both the fighters on social media ahead of their trilogy fight at UFC 264.

That's a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January. See you soon. July 10th Paid In Full

A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly. You took the McG over the belt shows I was right.

In response, McGregor stated that he doesn’t believe Poirier’s The Good Fight Foundation because a lot of things are fraudulent. Khabib Nurmagomedov also posted a meme in the same thread, effectively making fun of McGregor for breaking his word. Poirier forfeited a title shot for their trilogy bout and engaged in heated press conferences throughout the lead-up. Even though McGregor broke his leg in the end, it didn’t stop him from bad-mouthing Poirier, extending the rivalry.

In case you missed it!
