Marcel Siem of Germany claimed his fifth European Tour title in the Indian Open 2023 golf tournament, which concluded on Sunday at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. He thereby acquired the 340,000 USD winner’s cut of the $2 million at the Hero Indian Open 2023. Marcel Siem defeated Yannik Paul by one stroke after shooting a 14-under 274 (69-70-67-68). Joost Luiten of the Netherlands came in third at 12-under. Siem’s fifth Tour victory, his first in eight years and 116 days, earned him DP World Tour eligibility for three years, including the current season.
Yannik Paul began the fourth day with a one-stroke advantage at the top of the leaderboard of the Hero Indian Open 2023. He finished 13-under par (65-69-71-70) after avoiding bogeys and making two birdies. Nonetheless, Marcel Siem earned his first European Tour title since winning the BMW Masters in Shanghai in 2014 with five birdies and one bogey on Sunday. Post his victory, Siem said, “It’s a second kickstart for my career. This triumph should be right up there. Two years ago, I was not sure if I would ever play on the European Tour, and here I am, a champion on the Tour again.”

Veer Ahlawat, an Indian golfer who was tied for fourth at the end of the third day of play, started the day with a double bogey and dropped nine positions to finish T13 with a four-under 284 (73-70-68-73).
