The Philadelphia Eagles were victims of a salty defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Their fans were devastated and started blaming the referees for multiple controversial calls throughout the game.

Even many prominent players and their families took to Twitter to call out these controversial calls including Britain Covey’s wife Leah Covey. Leah took to Instagram to share her plight and brutally slammed the Chiefs for celebrating their embarrassing win.

The Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the Eagles was a close-knit affair where the Chiefs barely won with a 3-point lead. However, every win is a win and this was a massive one that helped the Chiefs lift the Lombardi Trophy.

However, Laura Covey wasn’t content with this victory as she stated on her Instagram with a thumbs-down story. “Honestly embarrassed for the Chiefs rn,” Leah posted a story on her Instagram with this caption and a thumbs down with it.

The wife of the Eagles’ return specialist wasn’t done there as she posted another story, this time posting a picture while writing an interesting caption to go with it. “Watching the Chiefs celebrate their win on the field after the weakest holding call and running the game clock for the last 5 minutes,” Leah wrote on her Instagram story.

The Eagles late holding call penalty was criticized by many high-profile athletes

Many prominent NFL players took to Twitter to share their views on the controversial call and the majority of them believed that it was not a foul. The eventual penalty led to the Chiefs bagging a field goal and eventually getting a lead in the game.

Even NBA Legend LeBron James took to Twitter to share his plight and spoke about the situation in great detail. “Sorry but I don’t like that call! Not for the Super Bowl man!” LeBron wrote in his first tweet.

His hand on his back had no effect on his route! This game was too damn good for that call to dictate the outcome at the end. Damn! By the way I have no horse in the race. Just my professional opinion

“His hand on his back had no effect on his route! This game was too damn good for that call to dictate the outcome at the end. Damn! By the way I have no horse in the race. Just my professional opinion,” LeBron continued.

The Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl showdown was the biggest game of the season. Therefore, the refs needed to be extra cautious while officiating as every small call can lead to massive game-changing scenarios if gone wrong. Maybe, that’s what happened during the most recent addition to the Super Bowl.
