Celebrity Engagements of 2023: A Checklist Of Stars Who Got Engaged This Year

Several celebrity couples are taking their relationships to new heights in 2023 with an engagement.

“I know those who are close aren’t surprised, but if you don’t know @jfrudaker she’s incredible and we are the perfect FIT,” Bachelor Nation’s Luke Parker wrote via Instagram on New Year’s Eve. “I’ve been on the hunt for a wife (of noble character) / Proverbs 31 women for a while now! Started to think it was never going to happen. … Gods timing is perfect! Keep the faith because he does have the perfect plan [sic]!”

The Bachelorette season 15 alum, who infamously called out lead Hannah Brown for having sex before marriage, popped the question to longtime love Jennifer Frudaker after two years of dating in Cooksville, Tennessee.

Former football player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, for his part, proposed to Sharelle Rosado on January 7. One day later, the Selling Tampa alum debuted her diamond ring via Instagram Story.

Johnson — who was previously married to Evelyn Lozada in 2012 — had been dating the Allure Broker realtor since November 2020. While the twosome, who welcomed daughter Serenity in January 2022, had been calling one another their “fiancé” since 2021, the NFL alum made it official in January.

The Survivor alum announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Jessica Kendrick on October 3, revealing he popped the question in September.

“Happy to announce…we are no longer dating ?,” the actress — known for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful and 30 Rock — captioned her September 24 engagement reveal.

Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess

The pair shared the news of their engagement on September 22 in a joint Instagram post. “The latest chapter ?,” they captioned a video that featured members of their family putting their hands in a pile. Burgess showed her hand last, which was sporting a giant diamond on her ring finger.

Kelsey Owens and Max Strong

The Siesta Key alum and Strong, who started dating in 2020, got engaged in Mykonos, Greece.

“It’s crazy that a day I’ve dreamt about since I was a little girl has arrived. I think the younger me would be so happy to know she has a man who takes care of her, puts a smile on her face, and loves her like no one ever has before,” Owens wrote via Instagram on September 17. “Max: Since the day I met you, you’ve never failed to surprise me and this day was NO different. You make my life like a fairytale so I truly thought this was just another night together shooting photos in a gorgeous location. Little did I know you were about to change my life forever.”

She continued: “The idea of us starting a family, having a lifetime of adventures, and getting to laugh with you every single day till the day I die brings happy tears to my eyes. I feel like the absolute luckiest girl in the world to be your fiancé and future wifey.”

Kaycee Clark and Nany Gonzalez

The Challenge stars announced their engagement on September 17 after González popped the question on the beach of Thailand’s Phi Phi Islands. “Our love is unconditional, a love that is meant to last a lifetime, and I am blessed to spend the rest of my days growing old and loving you every step of the way,” the caption read.

Zoë Sugg and Alfie Deyes

The British Youtubers announced they are engaged after more than a decade together via a joint Instagram post. In the clip, Sugg — who is pregnant with the couple’s second child — excitedly flashed her large engagement ring as the pair stood atop a mountain. The duo captioned the post with a white heart emoji.

Torrey DeVitto and Jared LaPine

Us exclusively confirmed the couple were engaged after six months of dating on September 7. “He proposed at home on her farm in Michigan. I happened over Labor Day weekend,” a source revealed. “It was a big surprise, even though they had talked about it someday, she didn’t know it was happening that week at all.”

The insider noted that the pair “are not planning the wedding just yet, but [DeVitto] is eager to start.”

Charlie Puth and Brooke Sansone

“I flew to New York to ask my best friend to marry me, and she said yes,” Puth captioned the couple’s engagement announcement pics via Instagram on September 7. “I am the happiest, best version of myself and it is all because of you Brookie. I love you endlessly forever and ever and ever.”

Jennifer Williams and Christian Gold

Williams announced her engagement to Gold, who is 18 years her junior, via Instagram in August 2023 by sharing a snap of her engagement ring, which she captioned, “Future Mrs … ?❤️.”

The Basketball Wives star also shared a quote on the post’s second slide, which read, “Don’t be shocked when life starts to get good. You deserve that.”

Hannah Brown and Adam Woolard

Brown announced her engagement to Woolard on August 28 after more than two years of dating. “So happy. I love our steady love,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of her new diamond ring. 

Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko

The pair got engaged on the season 20 finale of The Bachelorette, which aired in August. He proposed with a 3-carat Neil Lane ring.

The Love Actually actor announced his and Riley’s engagement via Instagram on July 27. Riley, who was previously married to Elon Musk, shared the news via Twitter.

Hulk Hogan and Sky Daily

The WWE legend confirmed his engagement to Daily during a mutual friend’s wedding. “She was crazy enough to say ‘Yes’ brother,” Hulk, who was previously married to Linda Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel, said in social media footage from the July nuptials.

Kary Brittingham and Mark A. Anderson

Nina Agdal and Logan Paul

“Engaged to my best friend ?,” the duo — who first confirmed their relationship in December 2022 — wrote in a joint Instagram post on July 9, revealing Paul popped the question in Lake Como.

Ashley Benson and Brandon Davis

The Pretty Little Liars alum announced on July 6 that Davis, who is the grandson of the late oil tycoon Marvin Davis, proposed after less than one year together.

The Hannah Montana alum announced her engagement via Instagram on June 25. “This magical, beautiful, kaleidoscope of a person asked me to marry him this weekend. I did not know life could be this sweet or I could ever be this deliriously happy,” she gushed while showing off her unique ring.

Karl Cook and Mackenzie Drazan

The former Disney Channel star and the model confirmed their engagement on June 15. The pair told V Magazine that Sprouse popped the question back in September 2022.

Chanel Iman and Davon Godchaux

The pregnant supermodel announced her engagement to the New England Patriots defensive tackle on May 30. “The blessings keep pouring, grateful for this new chapter and soon to be married and a forever to go,” she wrote via Instagram, sharing photos from the couple’s babymoon in Capri, Italy, where Godchaux popped the question. 

Bella Thorne and Mark Emms

The Disney Channel alum and the Mulberry founder, who met in 2022, got engaged on May 13 — one day before Mother’s Day.

Thorne confirmed the news weeks later on May 26, sharing a pic of her emerald-cut ring via Instagram.

Jana Kramer and Allan Russell

The One Tree Hill alum, who confirmed her romance with the former soccer star in January, announced in May that they are engaged.

“He said my name and I [stood up] and he got down on one knee and then Jolie just started jumping up and down. It was the cutest thing ever,” Kramer gushed on her “Whine Down” podcast on May 25, referring to her daughter with ex Mike Caussin. “Like, she knew what was happening [before he said anything]. Cole Swindell and Courtney Little

The country crooner revealed he popped the question to his longtime girlfriend on May 8.

“Still couldn’t tell ya everything I said down on one knee.. All I know is she said ‘YES,’” Swindell captioned an Instagram post that featured sweet snaps of the happy couple from the proposal. “We’re so excited!”

Little, for her part, also took to social media to share the exciting news.

“Woke up as future Mrs. Swindell. I’ve never been so happy! I can’t believe we are ENGAGED!!!!!” she gushed alongside images of her diamond ring.

Francesca Farago and Jesse Sullivan

The Too Hot to Handle and Perfect Match star announced her engagement to the trans TikTok star on May 2. “WE’RE ENGAGED? a glimpse into the most magical night ever? obsessed with our family.. what is life !!” Farago captioned photos via Instagram. The couple began dating after Farago finished filming Perfect Match in 2022.

Tish Cyrus and Dominic Purcell

The talent manager, who was previously married to Billy Ray Cyrus, announced on April 29 that she was engaged to Purcell after nearly one year together.

“A thousand times…. YES ❤️,” Tish — who shares five children with the country crooner — wrote via Instagram, showing off her diamond ring.

The Broadway actors announced their engagement on April 24. “While traveling through Schoonhoven in the Netherlands, we spotted a pair of rings, handmade by a local jeweler in town. Shockingly, they were both a perfect fit,” read a joint Instagram post. “After 8 years together, we think we like each other enough to make it official ? Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan

The “Call Her Daddy” podcast host revealed in April that she and “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” — her nickname for Kaplan on the podcast — are engaged.

The film producer, whom she met on a Zoom call, popped the question in March. Kaplan set up an elaborate ruse with her publicist, pretending that Cooper had a photo shoot that day.

“Little did I know that this was a fake photo shoot that my publicist and Matt set up to keep me out of the house, out of my sweatpants, and in hair, makeup and nails so I’d feel happy with the photos,” she told W magazine in April. “When I came home that night, my entire house was covered in candles, lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum and his girlfriend announced their engagement on April 20 after several years of dating. “To an unforgettable night surrounded by all our loved ones ✨? After sparking engagement rumors at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March, the couple confirmed their engagement on Long’s podcast.

The Basketball Wives alum announced on March 16 that she got engaged to Lavon Lewis, whom she met while filming the Peacock dating show Queens Court. The marketing pro popped the question in December 2022 at a gathering with friends and family.

Jeanine Mason

“Always knew I’d find you in New York, fiancé. What a wild thing this love!” the Roswell, New Mexico alum captioned an Instagram post on February 10, which included a photo of her and her mystery man.

Christina Hendricks and George Bianchini

The Mad Men alum announced her engagement via Instagram on March 10. “We proposed to each other and we said yes!!! I will love and care for him forever. @steadig,” she wrote.

Hendricks and the camera operator, who worked on her show Good Girls, were first linked in 2021.

Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola

Us confirmed on February 28 that the Mad Men alum — who met Osceola on the final season of the series in 2015 — had proposed. The twosome, who later costarred in Confess, Fletch, were first linked in spring 2020.

Eva Amurri and Ian Hock

The New Girl alum and her beau announced that they were engaged on February 20.

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma

Wilson and Agruma, who debuted their romance in June 2022, announced on February 19 that they were engaged.

“We said YES! ?? Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring ? and to Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise,” the Pitch Perfect star wrote via Instagram, sharing a snap of her love’s solitaire diamond ring.

Brittany DeJesus

Brittany — who stars alongside sister Briana DeJesus on Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom: The Next Chapter — announced via Instagram on February 15 that her longtime boyfriend popped the question.

Eminem’s daughter announced her engagement to her college sweetheart on February 6.

The professional baseball player proposed to the High School Musical star in late 2022, according to TMZ.

The Bachelor alum revealed that she and the NFL player were engaged on January 25 after less than two years of dating. 

“The surprise at the end he had for me ??,” Sluss captioned a TikTok video of the twosome having a romantic dinner on the beach before showing off her dazzling ring. 

Julia Cole and Marshall Kasowski

The country singer announced her engagement to the L.A. Dodgers pitcher via Instagram on January 25. “I can’t wait to marry my best friend.
